Privacy on the ice shelf
Fish Shelf is published by IT CONNECTION CONSULTANCY LIMITED. This note describes what the Android app sends when it opens the lake, and what it does not keep.
What the shelf asks for
On first open the app reads a stable identifier. If one is already saved, that value stays. If the shelf is empty and the advertising id is a real id, that id is saved and reused. A blank or all-zero advertising id never becomes the identifier; a new random id is saved instead. The saved id is not replaced on later launches.
The same open also sends the phone model, Android version, SDK level, language and country as a locale with an underscore, time zone, app version, build number, the time the app was first installed, a WebView user agent, the push token when one exists, and the Play install referrer when Play returns it. The referrer is not the name of the store that installed the app.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Fish Shelf shows the colorful shelf picture and a small white fish. Delivery and open reports use only the notification id named pushId.
The lake page
When a page is shown it can use cookies, including third-party cookies, so the page can keep a session. Camera and file access are used only if that page asks to take or choose a picture. Links such as phone, mail, and payment apps leave the page and open the app that owns them.
